The UJ Esuene Stadium in Calabar will stage Nigeria’s 2014 World Cup qualifier against Namibia next month, officials said.

According to MTNFOOTBALL.COM, top officials of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) met with top Cross Rivers State officials Sunday to finalise the agreement for the Calabar stadium to host the qualifiers.

Calabar thus beat the Dan Anyiam Stadium in the race to host these matches. Last week, Eagles coach Stephen Keshi has approved the pitch at the Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri, while there are some reservations about that of the UJ Esuene Stadium in Calabar.
The Calabar stadium last hosted the senior national team in September 2010.
