Former Arsenal defender Sol Campbell has announced his retirement from football after two decades in the game.

Campbel said that it was the difficult decision for him to make.

Campbell played for Arsenal from 2001 to 2006 after joining from the Gunners North London archrivals Tottenham.

He won the league and cup double with Arsenal in his first season and was part of the “Invincibles” Gunners side that was unbeaten in the 2003/2004 Premiership season.

Campbell made 211 appearances for Arsenal, scoring 12 goals.
