BUNDESLIGA REVIEW: BAYERN MUNICH MAINTAINS PERFECT START TO SEASON AS DORTMUND UNBEATEN STREAK ENDS

Bayern Munich extended their perfect start to the Bundesliga to four games thanks to a 2-0 win at Schalke, who were beaten for the first time this season.

After a tense first half in which neither side dared take any risks, the game finally opened up when Toni Kroos broke the deadlock in the 55th minute while Thomas Muller added a second for Bayern three minutes later and that was enough to give Jupp Heynckes' side the three points they needed to return to the top of the table, above Eintracht Frankfurt, with four wins from four.

Hamburg picked up their first win of the season and brought an end to Borussia Dortmund's 31-game unbeaten streak with a 3-2 victory at the HSV Arena

Wolfsburg failed to win in front of their own fans once again as they were held 1-1 by a gritty Greuther Furth.

Emanuel Pogatetz gifted the visitors the lead with an own goal in the 27th minute, but Ivica Olic spared the Wolves' blushes three minutes before half-time.

Mainz picked up their first win of the Bundesliga season to leave opponents Augsburg in their wake and struggling towards the bottom of the table after a 2-0 defeat.

Andreas Ivanschitz gave Thomas Tuchel's side the lead in the 10th minute and an Adam Szalai goal a quarter of an hour later was enough to earn them all three points.

Elsewhere, Fortuna Dusseldorf and Freiburg ended their match goaless
