Nigeria registered a demoralising 11-0 victory over FIFA under-17 women’s World Cup hosts Azerbiajan, sending them out of the competition
Striker Chinwendu Ihezuo plundered 5 goals to increase her tally to 6 goals and making her one of the top scorers in the competition.
Halimatu Ayinde and Tessy Biahwo bagged a brace each while Joy Bokiri and Aminat Yakubu scored one each to secure Nigeria’s biggest victory in any FIFA world cup tournament.
Nigeria leads group b with four points followed by Canada, who defeated Columbia by a goal to nil, in second with four points but are short of goals.
Columbia is in third place while host Azerbiajan are in the last position with no point.
