JUICY PAIRING OF UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE ROUND OF 16: RONALDO TO FACE FORMER CLUB REAL MADRID
So we have some mouthwatering clashes to look forward to in February, and there will be some very big teams dropping out at the last 16 stage now.
Now check out the juicy and interesting pairing.
Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo is in line for a return to the club where he scored 118 goals in 292 appearances.
That has to be a real highlight, but Milan v Barcelona and Arsenal v Bayern will be real belters. Celtic take on Juventus as well
There are few clubs more familiar with each than Milan and Barcelona, who have met 15 times. Valencia and PSG have never met in the competition before.
So to conclude, the Champions League last 16 draw is as follows: Galatasaray v Schalke; Celtic v Juventus; Arsenal v Bayern Munich; Shakhtar Donetsk v Borussia Dortmund; AC Milan v Barcelona; Real Madrid v Manchester United; Valencia v PSG; Porto v Malaga
Proceedings began with a tribute to Barcelona coach Tito Vilanova, who is having an emergency operation today after suffering a relapse of a cancerous tumour in his salivary gland.
As with all UEFA draws, there was plenty to get through before we got down to the real action, namely the explanation of rules.
Essentially, all group winners were drawn against the runners-up with the caveats that teams from the same country or same qualifying group could face each other.
The first leg ties will be played on February 12th or 20th with second legs on either March 5th or 12th.
