LA LAKERS OUT FOR 8 WEEKS DUE TO INJURY



Los Angeles Lakers Rearguard Steve Blake will undergo laparoscopic surgery on Wednesday to repair a torn abdominal muscle.

Blake has missed the Lakers' past 10 games because of his abdominal injury, which he sustained in a game against the Detroit Pistons on 4th of November

The ten year veteran, who is expected to miss a minimum of six to eight weeks after the surgery, averaged a total of  5.1 points, 2.4 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.3 steals in the seven games he played this season before the injury.

Meanwhile, team mate Steve Nash, who was out for months due to A fractured fibula in his left leg, has been recuperating and will travel with the rest of the team on its three-game road trip through Houston, New Orleans and Oklahoma City but is not expected to play.
