According to reports from Ghana, Brothers, Andre and Jordan Ayew
will not honour an invitation to play for the Black Stars of Ghana against Sudan
in a 2014 World Cup qualifier in Kumasi in the next couple of weeks.
Following
the decision of the two brothers, who are sons of one of the country's football great and legend, Abedi Pele, to temporarily quit the Black Stars,
the Ghana Football Association wrote back to them, rejecting the
decision and asking them to make themselves available.
However, it is understood that the Olympique Marseille duo have since written back to the GFA,
stating that they are standing by their decision to quit the Black
Stars.
Andre Ayew in his letter to the GFA, stated that he is not fully recovered psychologically to play for the Black Stars yet while Jordan Ayew, in his
letter, assured the football governing body that he would
make himself available for future Black Stars assignments but not this
one against Sudan.
Both players have been included in coach Kwasi Appiah’s squad to face Sudan,
but the latest twist would see the Black Stars technical crew scouring
for replacements.
