SUPER EAGLES OF NIGERIA NOW FOURTH IN AFRICA IN NEW FIFA RANKING
The latest ranking released by the world football governing body FIFA puts Ivory Coast ahead of every other national team in Africa, a position the Elephants have held for more than a year now while the Super Eagles of Nigeria are 4th best team in Africa
Despite their not too good performance at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations, the Elephants of Ivory Coast scored 1022 points to emerge at 13th overall position however, losing one place from the previous ranking.
Ghana come second as Africa’s best on the list with 883 points and sitting at 20, but dropping one place from last month’s record.
Mali gained one more position to finish at 24 and third on the continent, thanks to their bronze won at the 2013 Afcon.
African champions Nigeria did not add any points to their previous status and thus remain positioned at 30 on the ranking but fourth best team in Africa
Algeria, Zambia and Tunisia are fifth, sixth and seventh respectively on the Top African 20, while 2013 Afcon finalists Burkina Faso finished at eight.
