''REAL MADRID IMMINENT SIGNING OF BALE IS DISRESPECTFUL'' BARCELONA COACH, MARTINO CONDEMNS RIVAL WORLD RECORD FEE FOR WANTAWAY TOTTENHAM FORWARD

Opportunity: AVB said that the absence of Bale hands other players a chance.

Barcelona manager Gerardo Martino has condemned rival Real Madrid’s imminent signing of wantaway Tottenham's forward Gareth Bale for a world record transfer fee and he described it as 'disrespectful'.

Madrid are poised to spend close to 100m euros on Bale and Spanish media reported on Saturday afternoon that Bale had touched down in a private airport in Malaga ahead of the move, with the official announcement to come on Tuesday or Wednesday.
However, Martino is of the opinion that the transfer fee does not show respect for the world.

'Bale is a good player but the number that are being talked about; it is a lack of respect for the world we live in.'
Making his point: Barcelona boss Gerardo Martino branded Real's fee for Gareth Bale as disrespectful

It is understood that Spanish football owes a huge chunk of about 4,100m euros and up to 24 clubs have had to go into administration but Real Madrid are threatening to go against the tide and break their world record for the fourth time in their history.

Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas does not expect Bale to be at White Hart Lane on Sunday for what could turn out to be the last Tottenham match before the forward departs for Real Madrid.
