The National U-13 Championship, organized by the Nigeria Football Federation, came to a sweet end as FCT humiliated their Lagos counterpart, 5-1 in the finals.
It was a sweet revenge for the FCT boys who had lost to Lagos by 3 goals to 2 in the preliminary round and went ahead humiliate their counterpart in style to clinch the trophy at the FIFA Goal Project Centre of the Abuja National stadium.
Ebuka Okeke scored twice, while Mustapha Abubakar, Abdulsalam Mohamed and Emmeka Samuel joined him on the scorers’ sheet for FCT.
Niger State won the bronze after their third-place match opponents from Katsina State were disqualified for gross indiscipline during their semi-final game, which they lost 2-0 to team Lagos.
Certificates and medals were given to the three best-placed teams, while Lagos State’s Musa Ali emerged as the most valuable player of the tournament and Lawal Olayinka of FCT emerged as the best goalkeeper.
