Chelsea deny Conte bust-up over transfer policy

Chelsea have downplayed reports of a rift between Antonio Conte and their transfer chiefs over lack of movement so far ahead of the summer market.

Blues fans have been concerned as reports in Italy suggested that cracks were starting to appear in the relationship between the club's manager and those who run the club.

Conte was thought to be growing frustrated with the likes of club director Marina Granovskaia and technical director Michael Emenalo over the club's lack of signings so far in the transfer market, but Chelsea have denied the reports.

Chelsea have yet to make a major signing for their senior squad but are chasing deals for Everton's Romelu Lukaku and Monaco's Tiemoue Bakayoko after rivals Manchester City have already made £78m worth of signings.

Sources in Italy have reported that Conte is frustrated with progress over signings and that he is keen to seek reassurance despite being on holiday at the moment.
