Premier league side Liverpool have announced the signing of left-footed pacy Egyptian winger Mohammad Salah for a fee of £34 million plus add-ons from italian side As-Roma.
Salah had a prolific 2016-17 season with the Italian club, helping himself to 15 goals & 11 assists.
He plays constantly on the right as an inverted winger and is expected to complement Sadio Mane, the other rapid wide-man in Liverpool ranks.
Alongside the Sengalese international, the Merseyside club now have the two most expensive African players in Europe in their ranks.
Salah initially had a short spell in the Premier League with Chelsea after moving from Basel.(although he was snatched by José Mourinho from joining Liverpool then).
He was then loaned to Fiorentina & Roma before the capital club exercised their purchase option.
He has signed a 5-year deal with Jurgen Klopp's team and becomes the club's 2nd signing of the summer after youth striker Dominic Solanke moved from Chelsea.
Salah met with club captain, Jordan Henderson at the melwood training complex for a chat.
He expressed his delightment to join the club this time and also stated that he felt heartbroken when the Liverpool deal collapsed year back.
The club hierarchy has announced that Salah will wear Roberto Firmino Nō11 jersey, while the later wears the Nō9 Jersey for the new season.
This is a great deal for Liverpool in view of next season. An attack with the pace of Mané and Salah is one defender would definitely be wary of.
