English champions Chelsea football club have signed Tiemoue Bakayoko from AS Monaco for fee reported to be £40m to boost Antonio Conte and blues fans following a frustrating summer transfer window.
The French midfielder was also linked to money bags Manchester united but has chosen Stamford Bridge over Old Trafford, with the player playing a prank at Manchester united fans with a tweet yesterday morning showing his location was in Manchester, England but finally ended the day with a picture of Chelsea training center and a tweet indicating "soon soon".
The 22-year-old midfielder helped Monaco to win the Ligue 1 and got them to the semi-finals of the Champions League last season.
He also scored a headed goal against Manchester City in the last 16 of the competition to ensure Monaco dumped Pep Guardiola's Manchester Citt out of the champions league.
Chelsea were concerned and very willing to avoid a second embarrassment after Manchester United beat them to sign Romelu Lukaku from Everton for £75m.
Bakayoko would beef up Conte's midfield engines, but the player will have to wait for quite sometime before making his debut, considering his knee surgery, which also contributed to the delay in sealing the deal quicker.
In all, this announcement has paved way for Nemanja Matic who looks to be on his way out of Chelsea.
