NPFL Matchday 32 Round up: MFM closes in on Plateau United

Matchday 32 of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) had a lot of interesting moments from a Star player missing his spot kick after two attempts to MFM FC getting an away victory, Premiumsportscenter brings to you a breakdown of events.

ENYIMBA 1-0 KANO PILLARS

Star player Mfon Udoh bagged his 12th league goal of the season from the spot in the second half after the first half ended goaless as 7-time champions and former African champions, Enyimba beat 10-man Kano Pillars. Junior Lokossa saw red for the kano based team.

REMO STARS 0-1 MFM FC
League top scorer Stephen Odey lost his 2nd penalty of the season to increase his goal tally, but Austin Ogunye scored the lone goal as MFM defeated Remo Stars 1-0 which was surprisingly their 2nd away win of the season.

PLATEAU UTD 2-0 SHOOTING STARS
League Leaders Plateau United ended 3SC's five-game unbeaten streak courtesy goals by Emmanuel Odafe and Ibeh Johnson to down the ijebu-ode based side to remain on course to cup glory with massive superior goal difference and points over close contender MFM FC.

KATSINA UNITED 2-2 ABS FC

Ilorin based side ABS FC twice came from behind to hold Katsina United to a 2-2 draw. Destiny Ashadi and Joseph Adah scored got the goals for Katsina United, while Martins Ossy and Akinbo Oluwasegun got ABS' goals to get an important away draw for their team with Katsina united missing chances to get a win.

NASSARAWA UNITED 1-0 NIGER TORNADOES

Yinka Onaolapo got the only goal of the game for Nasarawa United, while goal keeper Suraj Ayeleso kept his 13th cleansheet of the season as Nasarawa United edged out Niger Tornadoes 1-0 in Lafia. It was the first time Tornadoes were conceding in their last five games.

RANGERS 2 vs 1 RIVERS UNITED.
This morning (Monday) in Enugu, Rangers edged out Rivers United with Ifeayin George scoring a brace, one in the 28th minute after being assisted by Tope Olusesi and the second from the spot in the 38th minute after the referee adjudged Nweke to have handled the ball in the box. Emeka Ogbugh pull one back for Rivers Utd after a cross from Nweke.

Team of the Week: MFM FC
MFM picked their 2nd away victory of the season, despite losing a penalty in the game to keep the pressure on leaders Plateau United. Although Plateau united has a superior goal difference, 3 points separate the two teams with 6 games remaining.

Key moment:
Stephen Odey -  NPFL top scorer Stephen Odey lost a penalty in 2 attempts. He ballooned the first, while the goalkeeper saved the second before being substituted minutes later.
