FC Barcelona of Spain have confirmed through a statement released on the club website, that Brazilian forward Neymar Jr wants to leave the club.
Neymar has informed the Catalan club of his decision to move to PSG today and he has been given permission not to attend training and sort out the deal.
However, Barcelona have clearly stated that his entire release cause must be deposited in full (cash) for him to move.
The statement is as follow, "The player Neymar Jr, accompanied by his father and agent, has informed FC Barcelona this morning of his decision to leave the Club in a meeting held at the Club’s offices."
The club went further to state that, "Faced with this position, the Club has informed them that they refer to the buy-out clause of his existing contract which as of 1 July totals 222 million euros which will have to be deposited in its entirety.
"The player remains under contract at FC Barcelona but with temporary permission not take part in training sessions."
The player is expected to be in Paris to complete his move to PSG within the next few days.
If this deal pulls through, it will become the world record transfer ever, knocking off Paul Pogba when he signed for Manhcester United from JUVENTUS last summer for £89m.
