Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone has signed a new contract keeping him at the club until June 2020.
Simeone led Atletico Madrid to a 3rd place finish in the La Liga last season and to the semifinals of the Uefa Champions League where they lost to city rival, Real-Madrid.
He has agreed a 2-year deal to end all sort of speculations surrounding him leaving next summer as the previous contract was set to expire in 2018.
The Club released abstatement which read: "Diego Pablo Simeone's contract extension is a reality.
Our coach signed his new contract that ties him to Atletico Madrid for two further seasons, until June 30, 2020.
Hence, we confirm the news that the rojiblanco fans were greatly hoping for. There is total synergy between the club and the coach."
Athletico Madrid are keen to improve on last season performance and Diego Simeone is seen as the man to lead the charge.
